The following section provides an overview of my philosophy and approach to leading and managing a club operation, while highlighting key areas of experience and accomplishment throughout my career. My background is rooted in balancing the day-to-day demands of a golf facility with long-term strategic planning, always with a focus on delivering a consistent, high-quality member experience.

Leadership

My leadership philosophy centers on accountability, communication, and building a strong team culture. I believe the success of any club operation begins with its people, and I prioritize staff development, clear expectations, and leading by example.

By fostering a collaborative and professional environment, I aim to empower teams to perform at a high level while maintaining a service-first mindset. I take pride in being a hands-on leader—I will never ask an employee to do something I have not done myself. Understanding individual team members is equally important, as adapting to their strengths and needs is key to effective leadership. At times, leadership also requires a more personal approach—supporting and motivating employees in ways that build confidence and trust.

While product and process are critical to any organization’s success, they can only reach their full potential with the right people in place and the proper tools to succeed. Creating an environment where employees enjoy coming to work each day is essential to delivering an exceptional member experience.

I have also been actively involved in agronomy leadership and planning, including working closely with agronomists and external consultants to align course conditions with the club’s long-term vision. Additionally, I played a key role in the search and hiring process for a Director of Agronomy, participating in candidate evaluation, selection, and onboarding to ensure strong departmental leadership and cultural fit.

Financial Responsibilities 

I approach financial management with a focus on discipline, transparency, and long-term sustainability. My experience includes budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue optimization across multiple areas of club operations. Every decision is made with a clear understanding of its impact on both the member experience and the overall financial health of the club.

I prioritize identifying where investments will deliver the greatest value and allocating resources accordingly. Throughout my career, I have also played an influential role in supporting departmental budgeting and broader financial planning efforts. My experience extends to participation in key financial decisions, including membership recruitment strategies, initiation fees, dues structures, capital fees, and assessments.

I have worked closely with Boards of Directors, Presidents, Treasurers, and finance teams to review and analyze monthly financials and profit-and-loss statements, ensuring accuracy while proactively addressing any variances or challenges.

CapEx

Capital planning is essential to maintaining and enhancing the quality of a club’s facilities. I have experience evaluating needs, prioritizing projects, and executing capital improvements in alignment with a club’s long-term vision. From concept through implementation, my focus is on delivering projects that provide lasting value and elevate the member experience.

I have presented plans and proposals to Boards of Directors and ownership groups and have been fortunate to work alongside golf course architect Andrew Green and his team in developing a long-term golf course master plan.

  • Practice facility enhancements

  • Bag drop expansion and improvements

  • Additional facility upgrades

Communications

Clear and consistent communication is a critical component of effective club management. I prioritize transparency with members, staff, and leadership to ensure alignment and build trust across all areas of the operation.

My experience includes drafting newsletters, member communications, club updates, and formal correspondence on behalf of club leadership. Whether through written communication, meetings, or daily interactions, my goal is to keep stakeholders informed, engaged, and confident in the club’s direction.
